Latur Region Development Plan — key details
The Latur Regional Development Plan covers Latur district in the Marathwada region of Maharashtra. The Government of Maharashtra, vide notification dated 2 January 2018 (published in the Maharashtra Government Gazette dated 17 February 2018), accorded sanction to the Draft Regional Plan of Latur subject to the modifications specified in Schedule-A appended to the notification. The plan is administered under the Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning Act, 1966.
The principal urban local body within the district is the Latur Municipal Corporation, which serves as the planning authority for Latur city’s jurisdiction within the broader regional plan framework. Surrounding municipal councils for Ahmedpur, Ausa, Nilanga, Udgir and the other tehsil towns administer their respective jurisdictions, with the District Planning Office coordinating the regional plan area.
