Hingoli Development Plan — key details

The Hingoli Regional / Development Plan is governed under the Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning Act, 1966 and falls within the group of regional plans administered jointly with Buldhana, Washim, Yavatmal and Nanded under the Additional Regulations of the Unified Development Control and Promotion Regulations (UDCPR) 2020 for these districts. The principal urban local body is the Hingoli Municipal Council, which serves as the planning authority for the town’s jurisdiction.

Hingoli district lies in the Marathwada region of central Maharashtra and was carved out of Parbhani district in 1999. The district lies in the basin of the Painganga river — a tributary of the Godavari — and is largely agricultural, with cotton, soybean and tur (pigeon pea) as dominant crops. The town of Aundha Nagnath, one of the twelve Jyotirlinga shrines of Lord Shiva, is located within the district and is a major pilgrimage destination.

The plan overlay on this page reflects published regional and municipal zoning, reservation and land-use boundaries georeferenced over satellite imagery, covering Hingoli town, the tehsil headquarters of Basmath, Kalamnuri, Sengaon and Aundha, and the surrounding agricultural plains.
